Tik Tok helps users to discover the works of current and past singers.
This is the reason why this company is now considering to launch its own music streaming service.
ByteDance, the company that owns TikTok, has filed a trademark application for the name ‘TikTok Music’ with the US Patent and Trademark Office.
The service will allow users to download, play, share, live stream audio and video music while also uploading images as covers for playlists.
ByteDance already has a music streaming app, Reso, but it’s only available in India, Indonesia and Brazil.
This app also has a few features that are listed in the trademark application.
The application was first filed in Australia and was filed in the US on May 9.
It is not clear if this request was submitted for reso service or a completely new app is being worked on.
Whatever the service, the company expects it to be a tough competitor for music streaming services after hitting social media services hard.
